These services include interactive facilities that enable taxpayers to:
- Submit income tax returns (as from Year of Assessment 2005)
- Effect self assessment income tax payments
- View your current tax return status and payments (as from year of assessment 2003)
Tax information is represented hierarchically, where each year groups together
payments and tax returns relative to it. You can collapse or expand years of
assessment and the tax return to hide or display further detail.
To complete your income tax return you need to fill in the questionnaire and
any related information such as the Profit and Loss details for Trading
persons.
You can save the information that you have keyed in to complete it later. When
you have finished your tax return, you will need to access the statement preview and
mark the document as complete. You will not be able to modify the information
after this step.
The information submitted on-line to complete your income tax return may be
viewed at any time, even after you mark the document as complete.
The information displayed on the Tax Statement Preview shows the tax charged
and the net balance due after payments and other credits (e.g. FSS, Tax at
Source) as on the date last saved. The preview will not show any additional
taxes or interests that you might incur. Full details will be available online
once the Inland Revenue has processed the tax return.
Whenever you need to print the information on screen to retain hard copies,
click the 'Print' button. The same information is available
for printing without the graphical headers and borders of the IR Services On-Line
website.
Click on the link Tax Information on the left to continue. The left part of the
web site, titled Main Menu, will provide you with links to the available functions .
